Once again, the best talent along the East Coast gathered to compete in the South Atlantic Border Battle. This year’s edition was located at the High Point Rockers Stadium in High Point, NC. Friday night was the third annual “Futures Games” which featured 2023 & 2024 talent. Due to the rain all day, the schedule was adjusted and rather than completing the workout before the game, the decision was made to play a 12-inning contest early on. Under a steady mist, the young bucks competed for twelve frames setting the stage for the 2022 & 2021 graduates on Saturday and Sunday.
As Saturday kicked off, a mist once again soaked the turf field as the 2022 graduates completed their batting practice and in/out responsibilities which led to a seven-inning exhibition. As the day unfolded, the weather improved as the upper-80’s to 90 MPH arms toed the rubber. In all on Saturday, six teams took the field and there was no shortage of prospects.
On Sunday, the sun came out and so did the bats for the boys of South Carolina. It was great to get another look at the talented prospects the East Coast has to offer. Where there is talent, there are scouts and this year’s event was no different as the backstop was filled with evaluators from their respective organizations.
